The first days of winter have finally found Michigan – and along with the long nights come the rose hued pastel sunsets that start in the afternoon.
Belle Isle is one of my favourite places to catch these light shows, and is a great excuse to wait out the rush hour traffic this time of year.
Tonight, the air was just crisp enough for us to be able to still sit outside at the Scott Fountain and soak it all in. The water has been turned of already for the season, but the emptiness almost makes it even more beautiful on the quite island.
I’m also obsessed with everything from Club Monaco. The collection is full of ruffles, ribbons, delicate embroidery, and is basically bathed in blush pink.
This sweater is one of my favourites. It’s super cosy since it’s made from 100% merino wool, and the slightly padded shoulders are super flattering.
I also love the winter floral trend that’s sweeping fashion at the moment. Maybe I’m just a sucker for anything with a rose because of my name, but I love it nonetheless.
I also found these shoes on my last trip to Target (or Targét as my mother would say). It’s a dangerous place for me, as I’ll go in for laundry detergent and somehow always walk out finding some little treasure. These are probably the best of the lot though.
Target also has some other great collaborations with Sam & Libby, which are slightly higher quality than most of the other shoes you’d find there. And with 30% off shoes online right now, you can bet there are a couple more on my list!
But for now, I’ll be chasing sunsets right here in my little paradise on Belle Isle. There are lots more little gems scattered about the island that I’ll introduce you to in the coming weeks.
